Why Choose a DIY Sewing Christmas Tree?

There are so many reasons to choose a DIY sewing Christmas tree as your holiday decoration or gift idea. Here are just a few:

  • Personalization: With a DIY sewing Christmas tree, you have the freedom to choose fabrics, colors, and patterns that reflect your unique style.
  • Handmade Charm: Handmade gifts and decorations have a special charm that can't be replicated. A DIY sewing Christmas tree is a thoughtful and meaningful gift that will be cherished for years to come.
  • Sustainability: By creating your own Christmas tree using fabric scraps or upcycled materials, you are reducing waste and contributing to a more sustainable holiday season.

How to Make a DIY Sewing Christmas Tree

Ready to get started? Follow these simple steps to create your own DIY sewing Christmas tree:

To begin, cut the fabric. Cut 6 pieces on fold. For this project, I've used 4 pieces of green fabric and 2 pieces of bordeaux.

Next, align the pieces with the right side facing each other and shape them into 3 Christmas trees.

pin the fabric together

Join the pieces with 1 cm seam allowance, ensuring you leave 2 holes for each branch at the bottom. Make small cuts at the angles to ease the seam.

sew the tree branches

Flip the pieces to the right side and press the seams.

Put the trees together and pin them in place. With the help of the pattern, find the middle of the tree.Sew in the middle with straight stitch to attach the pieces together.

Stuff wadding into each hole and sew it up by hand. Your Christmas tree is ready!
